My ranking of the Best Picture nominees 2022

This weekend marks the 94th Academy Awards ceremony, where some of the richest, most beautiful people in the world congratulate themselves and give each other gold paperweights named Oscar!

Okay, that’s the cynical way of looking at it, even if there’s some truth to it. But the fact of the matter is that movie-making is a huge, collaborative process, and when it’s done well, it should be acknowledged—and I do mean for everyone who worked on it (#PresentAll23). Anyway, I like to play my part with bringing exposure to art by presenting my own personal ranking of each Best Picture nominee. This isn’t about how good each film is; it’s just a matter of how much I personally enjoy watching them, which may not necessarily line up with the Academy’s thinking…whatever that actually means, you be the judge.

From my least favorite to most favorite, here they are. Tomorrow, I will post my predictions for each category.
